NCH Flash Player

NCH Flash Player is a part of BroadCam Live Video Streaming Software. BroadCam is used to stream and broadcast live or pre-recorded video over the Internet. NCH Flash Player is one media player BroadCam uses to allow users to watch videos in a web browser window without installing any additional software. NCH Flash Player can be used to view video streams on most operating systems in conjunction with an Internet browser.

Note: Make sure your version of Adobe Flash Player is up-to-date. You can download the most current version from Adobe's official website, but normally your browser will attempt to automatically update the flash player if needed.

What factors affect the video playback speed of the NCH Flash Player?

Many factors can affect the speed of a flash video. These include but are not limited to:

Buffering

The NCH Flash Player downloads a video while it plays. A buffer is a section of memory in your computer which allows for the simultaneous writing and reading of information, in this case the video. On the NCH Flash Player, the buffering is represented by the red section of the video timeline that can appear to load progressively. The Flash Player reads video information from one section of the buffer while writing to another. This kind of multitasking allows for smoother playback of video during a continuous process of downloading, which Is especially helpful for slower connections.

Flash vs. ASF

Flash media player can be used on most operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, and Linux. ASF is a file format used by Windows Media Player, and can only be used on computers using Windows. If you are streaming video using BroadCam and want to use flash files to reach the most viewers possible, select the flash video format from the Options menu under the "Live" and "Recordings" tabs.
